Description:

American beautyberry is an outstanding deciduous shrub growing 6-8 ft. tall with a loose, open form. This Florida native shrub displays a coarse, natural habit with large serrated green to yellow-green leaves 6-8 in. long. In springtime, tiny lilac-colored flowers appear in clusters in leaf axils. The pristine flowers are followed in late summer by berrylike fruit in unbelievable, metallic magenta. The beautyberry clusters put on a fabulous show encircling the stem. Great for informal, wildlife gardens contributing food for birds and animals.
